Bisons Get Close Win Over Clippers
Columbus got a terrific game from right fielder Ryan Thompson. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Buffalo, 9-8. Thompson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Buffalo reliever Felix Heredia was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Vladimir Nunez. Buffalo improves to 3-2 as they look to defend their championship.

Manny Martinez was the walk-off hero for Buffalo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bisons center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Buffalo manager .
