Clippers Lose to Suns in Walk Off
|
The Jacksonville Suns handed the Columbus Clippers a loss at Field of the Running Rebels. The final score was 6-5. Lenny Webster was named player of the game for Jacksonville. In addition to his 3 singles and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 2. Jacksonville reliever Ricky Bones was the winner. His record is now 4-3. Rich Loiselle took the loss. Jacksonville is now 22-21, while Columbus is 22-21.
Webster had a game-changing single in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-2 fastball from Brad Cornett, he banged a run-scoring single to left-center, giving the Suns a 6-5 lead. It was the 40th hit of the year for Webster.
