Pilots, Royals Swap Players

According to BNN there were mixed emotions by the players involved in the trade between the Seattle Pilots and the Kansas City Royals. As part of the deal, the Pilots swapped nothing to the Royals getting 27-year-old minor league C Mike Figga in return. The players indicated it was good to get a fresh new start in another city, but it was difficult to leave your friends on the old team.

Chicago Cubs Ship Hoiles to Charlotte

The players apparently knew they were on the trading block, so it did not surprise one of them when he learned that he had been traded to Chicago. "Got my bags packed already," he said, when reached for comment. The Cubs will receive 32-year-old C Todd Zeile, while 32-year-old C Chris Hoiles will go to the Charlotte Knights.
Hoiles has a career .218 average with 630 hits, 102 doubles, 1 triple, 171 home runs, 482 RBIs, and 437 runs scored to date.
Zeile's all-time stats include: 954 hits, 180 doubles, 27 triples, 146 home runs and 537 RBIs in 1226 games. He is batting .225 with 20 stolen bases and has scored 502 runs.

Toronto-Orlando Trade: Womack for O'Neill

A trade between Toronto and Orlando was made official this morning. The Blue Jays have sent 28-year-old 2B Tony Womack and 30-year-old minor league LF Brian McRae to the Devil Rays in exchange for 34-year-old LF Paul O'Neill.
Lifetime O'Neill is hitting .243 with 1534 hits, 272 home runs, 933 runs scored and 915 RBIs.
