San Diego Padres Ship Canseco to Kansas City Monday, December 29th, 1997 Done deal! The San Diego Padres have agreed to send 33-year-old minor league RF Jose Canseco to the Kansas City Royals for 29-year-old LHP Denny Neagle. The trade, rumored for days, was completed in the wee hours this morning. Over his career Canseco is batting .227 with 451 home runs and 1129 RBIs. In 1786 games he has delivered 1543 hits, scored 998 runs, stolen 308 bases and gotten on base at a .290 clip. Neagle has posted 101 victories and 40 defeats in his career with a 3.58 ERA. He also has fanned 1232 batters in 1312.2 innings and given up 1157 hits. |
