Toronto Blue Jays Ship Bichette to Boston
Monday, December 29th, 1997
You can focus on the negatives after being traded to a new team -- finding a new place to stay, leaving teammates and friends, having to start anew -- but one player hopes to focus on the positives. "It means I'm wanted somewhere. At least one team sees potential in me." Those were the comments heard after the Toronto Blue Jays came to an agreement to deal 34-year-old LF Dante Bichette to the Boston Red Sox for 28-year-old LF Rusty Greer and 26-year-old CF Terry Jones earlier today. The deal is expected to be formally announced later this evening.
Lifetime Bichette is hitting .231 with 1244 hits, 264 home runs, 643 runs scored and 744 RBIs.
Greer is batting .232 lifetime with 226 hits, 50 doubles, 5 triples, 29 home runs, 105 RBIs to date. He has also scored 97 runs.
