Florida-New York Trade: Fryman for McCracken
Monday, December 29th, 1997
The Marlins and Yankees announced a deal that was completed today. Florida sent 28-year-old 3B Travis Fryman to New York for 27-year-old LF Quinton McCracken and 25-year-old 3B Kevin Orie. Both teams appear happy with the outcome of the trade. The general managers told the Baseball News Network they felt the swap was beneficial for all parties involved.


Fryman has played in 1239 games and posted a lifetime .236 average. He has 1100 hits, 221 doubles, 18 triples and 199 homers. In addition he has driven in 650 runs and scored 618 times.

McCracken is batting .217 with 78 career base hits, including 13 doubles, 1 triple and 7 home runs with 29 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has played in 117 games, stolen 14 bases and compiled a .266 OBP.
