Boston Red Sox Ship Bonds to Charlotte Monday, December 29th, 1997 Officials for Boston confirmed that they have traded 33-year-old LF Barry Bonds to the Charlotte Knights. In return, the Red Sox will receive 25-year-old minor league C Raul Casanova, 34-year-old LF Shane Mack, 21-year-old 1B Paul Konerko and 30-year-old minor league RHP Jaime Navarro. Career-to-date Bonds is hitting .271 with a total of 470 home runs. Mack boasts a lifetime batting average of .271 with 1544 hits, 184 homers, 827 runs scored and 702 RBIs. |
