Detroit Trades Haselman for New York's Colbrunn

Several Tigers and Mets players soon will have to start shopping for a new home. It was announced today that the two teams came to agreement on a trade. Detroit will get 28-year-old 1B Greg Colbrunn and New York will pick up 31-year-old C Bill Haselman, 28-year-old LHP Rigo Beltran and 27-year-old minor league RHP Marc Pisciotta in return. "I'm not surprised by the news," one of the players told reporters, "It's part of the business and I understand that. I am looking forward to playing for the Tigers."


In his career Haselman has played in 537 games with a .217 batting average. Among his 386 hits are 78 doubles, 1 triple, and 56 home runs. He also has scored 190 runs, walked 105 times, has 11 stolen bases and driven in 199 runs.

In his career Colbrunn is hitting .246 with 375 hits, 66 home runs, 196 runs scored and 222 RBIs.
