Cleveland-Baltimore Trade: Simon for Spiers Friday, January 2nd, 1998 The Cleveland Spiders have made a deal sending 30-year-old CF Marquis Grissom and 22-year-old minor league 1B Randall Simon to the Baltimore Orioles for 31-year-old 2B Bill Spiers and 28-year-old minor league LF Jon Zuber. Both sides are said to be pleased with the way the trade worked out. In his career Spiers has hit .248 with 875 hits, 140 doubles, 42 triples and 47 home runs. His totals also include 307 RBIs and 421 runs scored. |
