Thomson Dazzles in Cleveland Win
The Cleveland Spiders got a magnificent effort from pitcher John Thomson, who kept Philadelphia hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Spiders win at League Park. The Spiders now have a record of 32-54 with the win over Philadelphia.

Thomson, who dominated for Cleveland, earned the victory to move to 5-7. He was in control the whole game, scattering 3 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 6. Philadelphia batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.

"I really like what we did out there today," Thomson said after the game.
