Dodgers Roll Over Angels, 9-2
Spirited fans at Kingdome greeted the Las Vegas Angels for their clash with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Las Vegas Angels, 9-2, at Kingdome. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Ryan Klesko, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Greg Maddux earned the win to go to 7-5. He allowed 2 earned runs on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts.

It could have been a different outcome for Los Angeles, had it not been for Rafael Palmeiro, the four-time All-Star . Palmeiro contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Los Angeles up, 3-0.

In postgame comments to the Los Angeles Daily News, Klesko said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

Los Angeles now owns a record of 43-46.
