Big Day with Bat: Jeter 5-for-5
Derek Jeter put on a hitting clinic today as the Toronto Blue Jays dumped the New York Mets 5-1 at SkyDome.

The Toronto second baseman made New York defenders earn their pay, lashing New York pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Jeter said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Derek Jeter singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, tripled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.

Jeter on the season is hitting .332 with 13 home runs. His stats include 33 RBIs and 53 runs scored.
