Senators Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Baltimore
|
The Washington Senators stopped the Baltimore Orioles, 6-4, behind an impressive performance from Ken Caminiti. The slugging first baseman made life miserable for Baltimore pitching. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Troy Percival was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 21 of 21 save opportunities. The first-place Senators have won 5 in a row.
A key at-bat came in the bottom of the sixth inning. With a runner on 1st, the batter, Albert Belle, hit a 2-run home run. It made the score 3-2, Washington, and helped them go on to win.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Belle.
