Cardinals Bridle Knights, 3-2
St. Louis rode a decent outing from starter Mark Portugal to victory over the Charlotte Knights at Comiskey Park. The final score was 3-2. Randy Myers earned his 4th save in 5 chances. With the win, the Cardinals improved to 45-46.

St. Louis used the bat of Edgardo Alfonzo to get the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Cardinals ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Alfonzo said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
