Athletics Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Oakland Athletics got a strong performance from pitcher Jaret Wright, who stymied the Baltimore offense en route to a 2-1 win at Oakland Coliseum. With the loss, Baltimore is 2-7.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder John Cangelosi came to bat in the bottom of the 11th. Facing Baltimore pitcher Radhames Dykhoff, he hit a 2-1 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Oakland on top, 2-1.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Oakland skipper Jim B.
