Extra-Inning Win by Tigers over Mets
The Detroit Tigers topped the New York Mets by the score of 7-5, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Frank Catalanotto. Catalanotto was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Tigers. The 5th-place Tigers are now 33-59, the Mets 53-38.

An important at-bat for the Tigers came in the top of the 11th, when right fielder Ben Grieve stroked a 2-run single. That made the score 7-5 in favor of Detroit. For the day, Grieve went 2 for 4 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Catalanotto told the Detroit Observer. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
