Getting an impressive start from Scott Bankhead, Charlotte beat Minnesota by the score of 10-1. Charlotte improves to 58-35 with the win. They lead their division by 2½ games.

Chuck Knoblauch put Charlotte in front, 4-1, when he took Steve Parris downtown. His 2-run home run came with two out in the bottom of the fourth. It was his 3rd home run of the season.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Knoblauch, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
