Creams Get One-Run Win at Charlotte
|
The Milwaukee Creams trumped the Charlotte Knights, 5-4, at Comiskey Park. Milwaukee first baseman Carlos Delgado was named player of the game for his performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Milwaukee reliever Wes Gardner was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Ron Robinson. Getting the save was Jeff Calhoun, his 5th.
Delgado made an early impact for Milwaukee when he stroked his 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came in the top of the third, put the Creams on top, 3-0.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Charlotte manager Tyler Vuxta. "But we decided not to take it."
At 7-4, the Creams have played well so far.
