Reds Drop Another One
The Minnesota Twins handed the Cincinnati Reds a loss at Metrodome. The final score was 9-3. Brent Gates was named player of the game for Minnesota. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winner was Steve Parris, who threw 110 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. The Reds, at 59-42, have lost 7 in a row.

The Twins got a big boost from first baseman Frank Thomas who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth inning off Reds hurler Joey Hamilton. It was his 88th RBI of the season and put Minnesota on top, 4-3.

"It feels good to get this one," Thomas told the Minnesota Daily.
