Davis Slugs Rockies to 12-6 Win
It was a fun time at Mile High Stadium, where the New York Mets and Colorado Rockies tangled.

The Colorado Rockies downed the New York Mets, 12-6, at Mile High Stadium. The Rockies were led by Eric Davis, who captured player of the game honors. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Scott Garrelts was the winning pitcher. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts.

The Rockies benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the fourth. With Juan Gonzalez at bat and Colorado leading 5-4, the New York miscue allowed Colorado to plate 1 and take the lead, 6-4.

"We take it day by day here," said Davis, "and today was a good one for us."

Colorado now has a 3-game win streak.
