Van Poppel Throws 2-Hitter En Route to 9-3 Creams Win
The Milwaukee Creams racked up a win at Riverfront Stadium, bumping off the Cincinnati Reds, 9-3. Todd Van Poppel, who started for Milwaukee, pitched effectively for his team. Milwaukee now sits in 4th place in the Federal League Central Division at 53-52.

Van Poppel's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 4 strikeouts in 9 innings while allowing 2 hits. Van Poppel, who is tied for 8th in the FL in strikeouts with 145, goes to 9-7 on the year with 145 strikeouts.

"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Van Poppel. "Successful pitchers do it."
