The Chicago Cubs picked up a win at Wrigley Field, knocking off the Florida Marlins, 7-3. Starting pitcher Mike Hampton, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Chicago goes to 42-64, Florida to 66-40.

With one out in the bottom of the second, Don Mattingly had a game-changing hit. The Cubs first baseman slammed a 2-run home run off Kevin Appier, making the score 2-0, Chicago.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Hampton said after the game.
