Reds Solve Creams, 4-3
The Cincinnati Reds picked up a win at Riverfront Stadium, knocking off the Milwaukee Creams, 4-3. On the mound for Cincinnati was right-hander Joey Hamilton, who played a pivotal role in the win. Arthur Rhodes got the save, his 23rd in 29 chances. Cincinnati occupies second place in the Federal League East Division at 61-45.

Had Andruw Jones not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Jones hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Reds.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Milwaukee manager .
