Dodgers Lose to Diamondbacks, 3-1
|
Arizona right-hander Ramon J. Martinez made an effective start against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, leading his team to a 3-1 win. Martinez, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing 1 earned run. Danny Patterson recorded his 23rd save for Arizona.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the third inning. That's when catcher Bobby M Estalella, who is tied for 5th in the UL in home runs with 30, drew a walk. The Diamondbacks went on to win.
"It feels good to get this one," Martinez told the Arizona Citizen.
Arizona currently is in first place in the United League West Division at 59-48.
