Senators Lose Despite Caminiti's Valiant Effort
Washington third baseman Ken Caminiti had a good game, even if his team did not. The Senators dropped a 6-5 decision to Montreal at RFK Stadium. Caminiti belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Ed Correa, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 3 hits, while walking 7 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 4-5. The Expos have an impressive 71-43 record.

Montreal needed the clutch hitting of Fred McGriff to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Expos on top, 4-0. For the game, McGriff had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said McGriff.
