Senators Win at Colorado, 5-2
The Washington Senators picked up a win at Mile High Stadium, knocking off the Colorado Rockies, 5-2. Starting pitcher Kevin Millwood played a key role in the triumph. Millwood, now 9-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 4, and allowing 2 earned runs. Washington leads the United League East Division by 2 games.

Washington used the timely hitting of Geoff Jenkins to capture the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Senators on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

Jenkins told a Washington Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
