Dodgers Nip Mets, 6-5
|
Shawn Green helped his team muscle past the New York Mets, 6-5. In the game, the Los Angeles right fielder went 3-5 with 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Bill Pulsipher, credited with the win, is now 8-13. He allowed 5 runs on 8 hits in 7 innings. Scott Radinsky earned his 14th save in 15 chances.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Joe Randa to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dodgers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said New York manager Michael Kritikos. "The effort was great."
Los Angeles currently is in 5th place in the United League West Division at 55-64.
