Ryan Klesko had a good game, but he could not keep the Los Angeles Dodgers from falling, 5-4, to the New York Mets at Shea Stadium. The Los Angeles designated hitter was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 in the loss. New York reliever Armando Benitez picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Scott Radinsky was collared with the loss. The 'W' lifts New York's record to 69-49.

A key moment came in the bottom of the ninth inning when Mets pinch hitter Bret Boone socked a 1-1 fastball to left for a run-scoring double, putting New York up, 5-4.

Boone said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
