Dodgers Turn Back Mets, 4-3
|
Los Angeles Dodgers starter Greg Maddux was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the New York Mets, 4-3. In 5.2 innings, Maddux surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. The Dodgers move to 56-65 with the win, while the Mets drop to 69-50.
It could have been a different outcome for Los Angeles, had it not been for Shawn Green, the former first round draft pick . Green contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Los Angeles up, 4-1.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said New York manager Michael Kritikos. "But we decided not to take it."
