Knights Prevail, 3-1, Over Milwaukee
|
The Charlotte Knights defeated the Milwaukee Creams, 3-1, in Federal League action at Comiskey Park, with Charlotte pitcher Scott Bankhead named player of the game. Bankhead picked up the win for Charlotte, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Tim Burke nailed down his 3rd save.
Jeff Bagwell delivered a big hit for the Knights. The veteran first baseman belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. The longball put Charlotte on top, 2-0. Overall, Bagwell went 1-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Charlotte manager Tyler Vuxta. "Our pregame was pretty good."
The Knights, now 10-3, have been on a roll in the early going.
