Tight Tilt Goes to Mets, 4-3
The New York Mets managed to get by the Baltimore Orioles, 4-3, at Memorial Stadium. New York pitcher Takehiro Ishii took player of the game honors. Ishii picked up the win for New York, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 10-7. The Mets raised their record to 71-52.

New York took a 4-2 lead on Olmedo Saenz's 25th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Saenz hit in the top of the eighth, left Baltimore pitcher Carlton Loewer visibly frustrated.

"I like our moxie," said Mets manager Michael Kritikos.
