Diamondbacks Throttle Athletics, 6-1
|
Oakland had no answer for Arizona Diamondbacks hurler Aaron Sele, who overwhelmed Athletics hitters as the Diamondbacks coasted to a 6-1 victory. Sele got the win, improving to 6-11. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 5.2 innings. Sele allowed 1 earned run. The Diamondbacks bumped their record to 65-59 with this latest triumph.
Arizona used the timely hitting of Mark Grace to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Diamondbacks on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Grace.
