The Cleveland Spiders and Charlotte Knights cranked it up at League Park.

Charlotte first baseman Jeff Bagwell had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 14-5 win over the Cleveland Spiders. Fumiya Nishiguchi, the winner, improved to 13-7. He held Cleveland to 4 earned runs on 6 hits over 8.1 innings, while racking up 12 strikeouts.

Charlotte relied on the bat of Barry Bonds to get the win. The left fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Knights ahead, 7-2. For the game, Bonds had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Bagwell said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."

Charlotte leads the Federal League Central Division by 4½ games.
