Cormier Dazzles in Kansas City Win
The Kansas City Royals got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Rheal Cormier, but it was good enough for the club to take a 4-1 decision over the Charlotte Knights. Rod Beck converted his 14th save in 16 tries. The Royals own a robust 86-50 mark.

Cormier, a native of Moncton, Canada, was dealing all game. He kept Charlotte hitters off-balance, while giving the Royals 8.2 quality innings. Cormier threw 121 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 6.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Cormier told the Kansas City Today.
