Swamp Foxes Hope Wins Keep Coming
|
Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Paul Lo Duca, the Rochester Red Wings suffered a 9-7 loss to the Savannah Swamp Foxes. Lo Duca was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Dustin Hermanson sewed up the save, his 1st. Savannah, now 3-5, is off to a slow start.
Savannah needed the clutch hitting of Mike Gulan to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Swamp Foxes on top, 9-5. For the game, Gulan had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Gulan.
