6 Straight Wins for Swamp Foxes
|
Despite a great performance by Hartford first baseman Felipe Crespo, the Savannah Swamp Foxes defeated the Whalers by the score of 8-5 at Wolves Ballpark. Crespo went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. With their winning streak at 6, the Swamp Foxes have raced to a strong start this season.
It could have been a different outcome for Savannah, had it not been for Masahiro Kawai, the 23-year old shortstop . Kawai contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Savannah up, 6-5.
"Enjoyed this one," Kawai told the Savannah Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
