Moonshiners Lose, 6-4, at Ballpark of Fremont
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones topped the Asheville Moonshiners by the score of 6-4, with the largest share of the credit going to right fielder Derrick Gibson. Gibson hit 2 home runs for the Cyclones. The Moonshiners fall to 4-8 and continue their uninspiring start to the 1998 season.
Darrin Fletcher, who is tied for 4th in the ATL in triples with 1, aided the Brooklyn cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Cyclones manager . "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
