Cyclones Bang Out 8-4 Win Versus Asheville
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones picked up a win at Ballpark of Fremont, knocking off the Asheville Moonshiners, 8-4. Starting pitcher Willie Banks was an essential part of his team's success. The Moonshiners, at 4-9, have stumbled out of the gate.
Derrick Gibson, who is tied for 10th in the ATL in runs scored with 10, aided the Brooklyn cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"Willie is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Brooklyn manager .
