Victory Pushes Swamp Foxes Record to 10-7
|
Despite a great performance by Brooklyn left fielder DaRond Stovall, the Savannah Swamp Foxes defeated the Cyclones by the score of 11-8 at Paradise Grounds. Stovall was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Savannah reliever Jin Ho Cho picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Todd Erdos took the loss. The Cyclones fall to 7-10 and continue their uninspiring start to the 1998 season.
Savannah took a 8-6 lead on Mike Gulan's 18th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Gulan hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Brooklyn pitcher Marc Pisciotta shaking his head.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Gulan.
