Cyclones Double Up Buffalo, 4-2

Brooklyn got a strong outing from Frankie Rodriguez as the Cyclones defeated the Buffalo Bisons, 4-2, at Ballpark of Fremont. Rodriguez, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks. Jim Mecir nailed down his 7th save.
Brian Simmons had a nice at-bat for the Cyclones with one out in the bottom of the fifth. With a runner on 2nd, the center fielder hit a run-scoring triple, which would prove important in the Brooklyn win.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Simmons said after the game.
The Bisons fall to 7-12 and continue to sputter in the early going.
