Cubs Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
Chicago catcher Mike Piazza was instrumental in his team's 7-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Piazza, who finished 2nd in the FL in batting average with .310 in 1995, went 2-3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cubs. The Cubs, with just their 4th win in 15 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.

Piazza had a critical at-bat in the bottom of the seventh for Chicago, coming through with a 2-run home run to put Chicago in front, 5-3.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Piazza.
