Moonshiners Prove Rude Guests, Win 5-3 at Milwaukee
|
Starting pitcher Matt Beech pitched well enough to help the Asheville Moonshiners beat the Milwaukee Otters by the score of 5-3. Beech, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. The Moonshiners have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 7th win in 22 games.
Asheville relied on the hitting of Deivi Cruz to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Moonshiners on top, 3-2. For the game, Cruz had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
