Swamp Foxes Lose, 8-4, at Torrance Grounds
|
The Asheville Moonshiners beat the Savannah Swamp Foxes, 8-4, at Torrance Grounds. The Moonshiners got a fine performance from designated hitter Mickey Tettleton, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Asheville reliever Matt Anderson was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Shane Reynolds. Asheville is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Ricky Ledee was vital part of the Asheville win. He was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. In the bottom of the sixth with one out, Ledee hit a run-scoring double. It made the score 5-4, in favor of the Moonshiners.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Moonshiners manager . "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
