Whalers Win at Ocean City, 9-2
|
The Hartford Whalers beat the Ocean City Blue Crabs, 9-2, at Fire Dogs Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder Quinton McCracken, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 6 with 4 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Hartford occupies 4th place in the Atlantic Northeast at 12-13.
Robert Fick, who is tied for 9th in the ATL with a .438 on-base percentage, contributed to the Hartford win with a solo home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
