Columbus played host to Brooklyn at the friendly confines of Mules Ballpark.

The Columbus Clippers topped the Brooklyn Cyclones, 7-1, in Atlantic action at Mules Ballpark. The player of the game was Columbus pitcher and Denver, Colorado native Roy Halladay. The winning pitcher was Halladay, now 4-0. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 8. Rich Loiselle locked down his 3rd save.

The Clippers beat the Cyclones in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Wendell Magee produced in the bottom of the first. Batting against Brooklyn pitcher David Cone, Magee gave his team a 3-0 lead when he hit a 3-run home run.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Magee said.

The Clippers bumped their record to 15-11 with this latest triumph.
