Multi-HR Game for Gonzalez in 6-1 Win
|
Colorado left fielder Juan Gonzalez played a vital role in his team's 6-1 triumph over Oakland. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for Colorado. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Rockies hope to make a postseason run.
Colorado took a 2-1 lead on Gonzalez's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Matt Morris in the top of the seventh, propelled Colorado to the win.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Gonzalez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
