Clippers Mow Down Moonshiners, 9-3
|
The Columbus Clippers powered past the Asheville Moonshiners, 9-3, at Mules Ballpark. Jeff Reboulet was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2, to lead the charge. The Clippers, now 19-15, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
The Clippers used some clutch hitting to beat the Moonshiners, a good example being the at-bat of Tim Hyers in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, Hyers gave his team the lead, 4-2, when he hit a 2-run double.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Hyers, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
