Beasties Walk Off with Win
|
Bluff City right-hander Hector Fajardo made an effective start against the Rochester Red Wings at Ravens Ballpark, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Jeff Shaw picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-2. Scott Sheldon was tagged with the loss. With the win over Rochester, the Beasties improved to 15-18.
The Beasties used some clutch hitting to beat the Red Wings, a good example being the at-bat of Kevin Jordan in the bottom of the ninth. With two down, Jordan gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he hit a walk-off 2-run single.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Jordan said.
