The Bluff City Beasties picked up a win at Ravens Ballpark, knocking off the Rochester Red Wings, 4-3. Starting pitcher Nate Minchey played a key role in the triumph. Bluff City reliever Marty Janzen picked up the win to move to 3-0. Joe Ausanio suffered the loss. Earning his 9th save for Bluff City was Mike Fyhrie.

An important at-bat for the Beasties came in the bottom of the eighth, when shortstop P J Forbes stroked a solo home run. That made the score 4-3 in favor of Bluff City. For the day, Forbes went 1 for 4 with a home run.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Forbes.

Bluff City is 16-18 and Rochester, with the loss, 9-25.
