Suns Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Swamp Foxes
|
The Jacksonville Suns stopped the Savannah Swamp Foxes, 5-2, behind an impressive performance from John Jaha. The 31-year old first baseman made life miserable for Savannah pitching. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ryan Bowen earned the win for Jacksonville. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 9 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 2-4. The Suns bumped their record to 17-17 with this latest triumph.
Jaha had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a grand slam. The Suns went on to win.
"It was a solid team effort," said Jaha after the game.
